Several Brands of Baby Cribs Recalled Due to Entrapment, Strangulation, Suffocation and Falls

Author: Evan Langsted

The Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a number of baby crib recalls over the last few years. The number of manufacturers and models is rather shocking considering that the hazards are similar, and continue to show up even though they have been pointed out repeatedly in previous recalls.

In the table below there are comments taken from the CPSC recall notices that indicate the types of hazards that were found and reason for recall. While not all hazards caused incidents or injuries, the potential for an accident is sufficient to require the manufacturer either provide a repair, replacement, or refund. Also, not all models of cribs by any one manufacturer are necessarily involved in these recalls. If you suspect that your crib may be defective, contact the manufacturer to see if it has been recalled, or if there have been other complaints about the same model.

If you own one of these cribs, you should immediately make other sleeping arrangements for your child and seek the remedy recommended. For more information about crib recalls please visit the website of Schlichter, Bogard & Denton, experienced consumer product liability attorneys.

  3. QUESTION:
Where can I find safety information on baby gear?
I am 22 weeks pregnant and have been searching for baby stuff–furniture, strollers, etc.–so we can make up a registry. Up to this point I’ve just been reading other people’s reviews of the items, but I keep reading reviews where the parent mentions that the item meets safety standards (no recalls, etc). Does anybody know where I can find the safety information? My husband and I don’t have much money so we’re buying less expensive items, and I want to make sure I’m not sacrificing safety in the name of my budget.

Any help would be greatly appreciated; I don’t even know where to start searching!

    • ANSWER:
I would go to the consumer website information because if you go to the product web site of course they are going to tell you that there product is the best

  4. QUESTION:
    Baby safety class………?
my boyfriend and i attended a baby safety class today and i just wanted to share some helpful information with all the parents.

Walkers are banned in a few stated and illegal in canada due to development delays. a baby that uses a walker on a regular basis is most likely to be bow legged and walk on tippy toes. it also slows the development of abdominal and back muscles. the teacher said the seat (the part of fabric that goes between babys legs) is not very comfortable and could cause the bowleggedness. he said its like if we would walk around with a pillow between our legs…now very comfy lol. it would cause the baby to walk on its tippy toes because if you have seen a baby in a walker you have seen that all the do is push/pull them selves around with their toes. a baby is ready to walk at around 10 months. when they start to pull up on things is when they are getting ready to walk. putting a 5 month old in a walker would just slow the process. IF you choose to use a walker, use it for no more than 20 minutes per day.

the bumbo seat is recalled. they still sell it in stores because people buy them. along with most other recalled item. not all of them are taken out of stores because people continue to buy them. check this website for recalled items. http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/category/child.html

for the first year of a babys life, the only thing that should be in a crib is the fitted sheet and the baby. bumpers and comforters should not be used. for more information on comforters and bumper safety go to www.aap.org/policy/re9946.html

i thought this information would be helpful. if any of you find some of this information false, i apologies…im just telling you what i heard and what is on the information packet that was handed out.

    • ANSWER:
I read all of this…even though I am pregnant with baby #3..lol so I know everything..lol but thanks and I love reading things about children since they are my pride and joy! I want to protect them as much as i can!!

  5. QUESTION:
Has this baby stroller been recalled? its a Safety 1st Playsafe Travel System Dotswana stroller/carseat combo?
    Has this product been recalled?

heres what it looks like: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/519HiR%2BOO8L._AA260_.jpg

    • ANSWER:
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is the best place to check for recalled items. The website will list the recalled item, date of recall and reason for the recall.

  6. QUESTION:
FDA recalls Baby Bliss Apple Flavor Gripe Water, please read if you use this?
Read the complete MedWatch 2007 Safety Summary including a link to the
    FDA News Release at:

    http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/safety/2007/safety07.htm#Bliss

MOM Enterprises Inc., and FDA informed consumers and healthcare providers that Baby’s Bliss Gripe Water, apple flavor, with a code of 26952V and expiration date of October 2008 (10/08) is being recalled due
to the presence of Cryptosporidium infection. The product is labeled Baby’s Bliss. Pediatrician Recommended Gripe Water. Apple Flavor. An herbal supplement used to ease the gas and stomach discomfort often
associated with colic, hiccups, and teething in infants and children.

FDA is investigating the illness of a 6-week old infant who consumed the product. The most common symptom of Cryptosporidium infection is watery diarrhea. Other symptoms include dehydration, weight loss, stomach
cramps or pain, fever, nausea, and vomiting. Symptoms generally begin two to ten days after becoming infected with the parasite and generally last one to two weeks. The infection could be life-threatening for certain individuals, including infants, children, and individuals with
    weakened immune system.

    • ANSWER:
Thanks, I actually used the Gripe Water, but luckly it was the original flavor not the apple flavor.

Gripe water is very very very helpful to babies with colic, I guess you just have to be careful what brand. Always go for the 100%natural ones!

  7. QUESTION:
What baby products are safe to use? Is there a list or guide available?
I am looking to give shower and baby gifts for a family member, and the mother is being very specific about safety. She does not want anything from China because of the recent recalls. I am wondering if anyone knows if there are any guidelines or lists somewhere that identifies safe products. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
There is no list that I am aware of but there are some products
available that are made in the USA and in Europe.
My favorite bath product for babies that is made in the USA is Noodle and Boo.
The best toys are made in Germany by Haba, Selecta, etc.
Also, clothes made in France and most of Europe will not have fire retardant in it(nasty stuff that gets soaked into your baby’s skin).
Some of the products are a little pricey, especially coming from Europe because their currency is very strong right now. I will list some websites below.

  8. QUESTION:
HUGE Crib recall now? Are you affected?
I’m really angry. My son is 16 months old and his crib is among the millions being recalled. So for 16 months he has been sleeping in a crib that could potentially smothered him to death! This recall notice says to “find a safe, alternative sleep environment for their child until the repair kit, with new safety pegs, is safely installed” He’s been sleeping there for 16 months! How sad for the parents of the babies that died because they purchased this particular crib. I would have never—-ever, even know about the recall if my MIL hadn’t emailed me this with her 20 other forwards she sends me daily. Do you keep up to date on baby item recalls? Will you research any lists before shopping for Christmas gifts?

    • ANSWER:
Thank God, it is not one of them. I came on yesterday to find that someone had posted something about it, and I freaked because both of our cribs were given to us. I checked the serial numbers and they didnt match the recalls, and i noticed the release system is different on ours..thank god!

luckily your son is safe! good luck!

Is my Dropside Cot safe?

Author: Louise Guinda

The recall of over 9 million dropside cots in the US has led many UK parents to question the safety of their cot. Now one UK manufacturer, Cosatto, has recalled one batch of its Paris Cot and has issued a repair kit for another model, the Stratford Cot Bed.

The CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) of the USA has proposed that they should be banned from sale in the US and removed from all hotels and nurseries. This ban is very likely to be passed by Congress by the end of the year. The CPSC had received reports of 32 infant and toddler suffocation and strangulation deaths and hundreds of incidents caused by or related to drop-side detachments in cots by various manufacturers

So why are they considered more dangerous?  According to the CPSC, “dropside cribs generally have a tendency to be less structurally sound than cribs with four fixed sides.”

Dropsides can be a godsend for shorter parents who struggle to lift their baby out of the cot. However, it would be sensible to take the following precautions as recommended by the CPSC:

* Every time you change the sheets, check that all visible hardware – every bolt, screw, track and clamp – is securely in place.

* Make sure the drop-side is on its track and functions well.

* With the mattress out of the cot, wiggle all the cot to see how tight all the joints are.

* If the cot remains wobbly after tightening all hardware, look for loose wood-to-wood joints that may be causing the problem.

* Stop using the cot if loose wood-to-wood joints are found or if you cannot fully tighten any screw.

The CPSC also warns that cots older than 10 years old should not be used or any broken or modified cots.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How many safety innovations for the NASCAR Cot and racing will ever make it to the public?
Safety barriers, side panel foam inserts, gas tank inserts, fire extinguishers, brake and suspension items, etc. They show them during every race. They have all sorts of things to help protect the driver, do you think these things will ever be put in the general public’s cars. Yes, it know that they are expensive. It is now and always will be.

    • ANSWER:
some of them have already been used in production cars, the brakes for example,,foam inserts in the sides of cars,(airbags) they just adapt to what is the best application to be used in full production lines, and no we’ll never see all the stuff that is used in the nascars,we don’t run 190 and turn left all the time.
if only the newest fans could go back and see what they raced with in the 50′s&60′s then they would see just how much this sport has changed
some for the better and some for putting on a good show.
true nascar fans will agree that today’s so called racing isn’t nothing but a show, kinda like
WWE but with cars,oh i long for the good ol days

  2. QUESTION:
Cot safety for a moving baby??
My 7 week old daughter moves around a lot in her cot. She does not roll yet but somehow manages to move from a vertical position to a completely horizontal position in her cot. So in doing that she always ends up right against the bottom end of her cot and quite often hits her head on the bars or end of the cot.

Are there any good products or ideas that may make the cot a bit softer. I don’t want to use a bumper for SIDS reasons.

I have tried putting an anti roll thing on either side of her but she just moves that with her.

    • ANSWER:
My son would rotate in his crib as well. There isn’t really much you can do to stop her though. Chances are being up against the bars doesn’t bother her. One option is to just let her be.

Of course, you wouldn’t ask this if you were comfortable with that. Another option could be to get a mesh type bumper for the crib. They allow airflow yet protect as well. http://www.inventiveparent.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=SLEPBRBP
It sounds like she is just an active baby. Good luck with what ever you decide.

  3. QUESTION:
i have lost my safety clips off my cot do u know where i can get two?
i have lost my safety clips off my cot its too good to throw out and want to use it again can u help

    • ANSWER:
Try a camping shop, they usually carry all sorts of clips and hooks etc. Look for a big one that do caravan and trailer as well, you will have more choice

  4. QUESTION:
Safety rail for cot bed, which is suitable?
I have recently taken the sides off my sons Cot bed and require a safety rail to stop him falling out whilst he gets used to the change. I bought a ‘Summer’ bed rail that said suitable for 18month – 5 years only when i read the instructions more in depth i found it was only suitable for divan beds!! (quite how many youngsters sleep in divan beds is a question that baffles me!!) anyway i have googled bed rails and am struggling to find one that is specifically for cot beds/junior bed (the bed also has lats if this makes any difference).

Can anyone recommed a specific bed rail or brand?

    Thanks in advance

    • ANSWER:
I had the same problem with my son’s bed. In the end, we got a Lindam Safe and Secure rail, and that was suitable for slatted bed frames.

  5. QUESTION:
Can you carry a baby in a car in a carry cot?
I have read somewhere that providing you have the appropriate safety harness for the cot you can put a baby in a carry cot in a car. I can’t remember where I read this. Is this right and does anyone know where I can find further info and the appropriate harness?

    • ANSWER:
You can put the baby in a car seat and then put the seatbelt over it. This is the safest procedure for a baby.

  6. QUESTION:
did the S.A.F.E.R. barriers and the safety of the COT do it’s job today in what it’s all suppose to do
in case you missed it, or haven’t seen it, here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI96AKMswLM . what can Nascar and their drivers learn from what happen today so they don’t end up like this?
p.s. to say Nascar drivers are not athletes, were not driving Michael McDowell’s car today.

    • ANSWER:
The situation speaks for itself. The thing that you saw “is” the reason why they built the COT and safer barrier. Your seeing what they saw all along during the evolution of NASCAR Racing. The problem has already been solved. Thats’ why they built the safer barrier. That’s why they designed the COT. This is the question that was posed in the past , so we could see drivers not get seriously injured in crashes like that. The learning has already been done, what your witnessing is the application.

  7. QUESTION:
my son can climb out of his cot now. should i put him in a bed?
He only turned 1 in february though. I was thinking of putting him in a bed with safety guards either side. This would be much safer than him falling from his cot. I just don’t know if he’s to young.

    • ANSWER:
you could try taking one side of his cot that way he wont be too far off the floor if he falls out and will get used to that and stay on his bed also he will still have the comfort of being in his cot as at that age they are still very small, if you feel comfortable putting him in a bed though go for it no-one can tell you whats best for your child just give you some extra options!
      take care and good luck!x

  8. QUESTION:
My 13month old boy keeps getting his thighs stuck between the wooden rails of his cot..?
i put him down for his sleep and he wriggles around abit until he falls asleep. The past few days he has been getting his legs stuck between the rails in the cot and cant move and he cries. Is there anything i can do to prevent it? He seems to do it heaps lately and it scares me that he will really hurt himself. It is a brand new cot with all safety regulations so this really shouldnt be happening..
A Crib is called a COT here in Australia if you didnt know.
We cant really do the sleeping bag thing because it just gets too hot overnight here at the moment, we are entering summer soon over here.
I dont have those padded bumper things, i have heard of them but nobody really uses them over here so i dont know if they actually sell them. As for moving him into a big bed, thats what i was thinking. But i really think that hes just too little for a big bed just yet. He can walk and has been since he was 11months, but he still has a bit of a muck around in his cot before he falls to sleep so hed probably be running around in his bedroom playing with all his toys and never sleep! haha.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi, this sounds tricky.

Don’t hunt for a bumper. They are too soft and your son is probably pulling himself up to a stand by now—if not starting to walk. If he puts his foot on the bumper it will not support his weight. It will crush under his foot, he will lose his balance and the foot and leg might slip through the space—hard.

Call your local pediatric hospital. I know this sounds silly but they have lots of kids come through and they use up to date beds. This must have happened before. Tell them you have questions about crib safety—sorry cot safety—and they can connect you with someone. If that person doesn’t know and they are good at their job they will start helping you search for answers.

Also call the manufacturer of your cot and tell them what the problem is and see if they sell/make anything.

Is there one spot where he gets stuck all the time? You could find out the spacing the crib is supposed to have and measure the space to make sure its correct. Nothing is perfect and sometimes manufacturers make mistakes—that’s why they have recalls.

Also check and see if the crib was recalled for this reason. A few years ago my oldest son’s car seat was recalled two years after he stopped using it!

Good luck and best wishes. Until you find a solution you might want to keep some vegetable oil handy near his room in case you have to make his leg slippery to get it back through.

Stair Gates

ChoosingTrusted Stair Gates for Your Home

Author: Stair Gates Online

What to Consider When Choosing Stair Gates

Keeping children safe is the prime consideration in every parent’s mind. This is why choosing the right products like safe and trusted stair gates needs to be done with care. Just because something is being marketed for children does not mean that it is safe and dependable. Parents should know that there are some tips to keep in mind to make selections of safety stair gates and other child protection devices an easy and worry free process.

a€¢ Choose stair gates that have a certification from JPMA or CPSC

a€¢ Select stair gates made from sturdy material with secure latch fittings

a€¢ Make certain that the stair gates are appropriate for the area where they are to be used. Some of these safety stair gates are only appropriate for use at the bottom of a staircase

a€¢ Choose a mounting system that is easy to install and will work on the walls of your home

Certifications

Having a certification seal from JPMA or CPSC is considered a gold standard for any products designed to be used by children. This certification ensures that parents are choosing an item that has met or exceeded every manufacturing guideline that promotes safety. JPMA is one of the largest groups that monitor whether or not children’s products meet the required safety standards. ASTM is the organization that lists all of the safety features and quality standards for products being prepared for market. JPMA is a separate product authority that works with ASTM and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to develop and maintain the highest level of standards and quality for the juvenile marketplace. When you notice the JPMA certification seal of approval you are assured that the product you purchase has been tested both during and after the manufacturing process. JPMA will only approve juvenile products like child stair gates after these items have met the most stringent criteria standards.

Material Strength and Mounting Systems

When choosing safety stair gates parents should always select those that are made from sturdy, dependable material. Cheaper items are readily available and these are constructed from flimsy plastics or cheap wood. These types of safety gates will not hold up under the weight of a determined small child and can result in a serious accident. The mounting systems must also be made from material that will be secure once installed. Hardware consisting of metal mounts is ideal and this type of setting can hold firm against the push and weight of small children who are trying to get through the safety barrier.

Aesthetic Appeal

It is only reasonable that parents would want safety features that have a certain aesthetic quality. You can find a number of different styles of child safety gates that block access to dangerous areas like open doors, kitchens and stairs. Many of these childproof gates have colors and designs that will let them blend into any type of dA©cor. Parents need to make certain they are not sacrificing any safety features when they select one of the more aesthetically pleasing gates.

Our Children Deserve the Best

A child’s safety is not something to jeopardize with an improperly chosen safety item. You want the best for your children and this means selecting safe and trusted stair gates that will prevent an unfortunate accident. Parents should always choose child gates that are made of high quality material, have a certification seal from JPMA or CPSC, and have a strong, durable mounting system. This will give your home the child friendly safety features that you can trust.

  2. QUESTION:
How do you know when to take the stair gates down?
I have an almost two year old so obviously we have gates on both the top and the bottom of the stairs. How will I know when to take them down? Should I base it on age or ability? My friend just took down her gates, her daughter is just turning three. I’m confused.

    • ANSWER:
when they can climb over the gate. this is what my son did, and i was more worried about him climbing over the gate and falling down the stairs, then falling down the stairs, so i took the gate down, and he got down the stairs fine.
it’s also good, if you have other stairs in the house to let her practice going up and down the stairs (down the stairs backwards on hands and knees- not the way regular way or she will definitly fall)

  3. QUESTION:
how can I find out how many stair gates are sold each year in the UK and USA?

If the stairs are not carpeted you may want to do that. The Injury on stairs is the hard wood or concrete toe of the stair.
A half inch of carpet is the difference between a concussion or broken bone and just an owie. Kids love to play on the stairs, Play with them on the stairs. get them used to it and they will be fine. My daughter was doing Tarzan rope swings down the stairs at three. Of course I had her mattress at the bottom of the stairs and all the couch cushions covering all the corners.

  7. QUESTION:
cat is limbing, I have moved her leg & shes not meowing, she can still jump as have stair gates is it sprained?
My cat is limbing & not putting hardly any presure onto her paw/leg have moved her leg & checked her paw, shes not meowing, she can still jump onto the kithen top & over our stair gates as i’ve got a baby. is it just spained? if more wouldn’t she be meowing & unable to jump on & over things. any advise welcome.

    • ANSWER:
Even if we here in Yahoo!Answersland were qualified veterinary professionals, we are sadly too far away to conduct an examination of your cat’s injury. Tragically, we were all born with the handicap of not having x-ray vision. Therefore we cannot tell you what type of injury your cat has. That is to say, any yahoo can burble out a diagnosis, but he or she will be talking out of his or her hat. In fact, please take any specific answer as a sign that the respondent has more hot air than is helpful. I know visits to the veterinarian are spendy, and no one wants to throw a bunch of money at a minor injury that would clear up in a few days.

But the truth is, to get your answer, you need to consult with your veterinarian. If it were not the weekend, you could easily call the office and describe the symptoms, and discuss with your vet. and/or the staff there whether or not your cat needs to be seen immediately or if it OK to wait and watch for further symptoms. One of the things you would need to discuss if it was decided that you could take the wait and watch approach, is the signs of pain in cats. Cats can be extremely skillful at hiding their pain, and so it shows in subtle ways, such as changes in mood, activity level and appetite, requiring the cat owner to practice careful observation in order to detect those signs.

But it is the weekend, so now you get the fun of trying to figure out if the injury is serious enough to warrant a visit to an emergency veterinary clinic or having your regular vet. paged. At a guess, I would say it probably can wait until Monday, but here is a website that has a handy checklist of symptoms that indicate true emergency conditions requiring immediate care: http://www.cathelp-online.com/emergency/symptoms.php To help you assess the situation for yourself.

  8. QUESTION:
hi mummies can anyone help me with stair gates?
my fiance, daughter and i are soon to move into our own unit! yay. we need to purchase 2 stair gates (one for top one for bottom) can anyone recommend a good brand, do you have any links? we live in australia.
safety is always always first but seeing as i am buying two i would like to pay a decent price.
thank you all so much =)

    • ANSWER:
Hiya I’m not sure of makes of stairgates but just wanted to advise you to buy the fixed ones that you screw into the wall if it is for the top of the stairs, as no matter how much you tighten the pressure fix ones they still may slip if your little one is leaning against it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
I’m TTC and would just like to know what it felt like to hold your baby in your arms for the first time?
I am battling infertility and I dream of having a baby…would just like to hear how it felt to give birth and hold your baby safety in your arms!

    • ANSWER:
The best feeling ever I had in my whole life in one minute…I never felt so at peace in my life, or fulfilled…just looking into her angelic face was a gift from God…I felt (and still feel) truly blessed.

      *baby dust to you*
I hope you get pregnant soon, and I know you will love when you can finally hold your baby, esp. since you’ve been fighting infertility.

  2. QUESTION:
do you think this is a good price for a dog safety gate?
its a dream baby gate and i got it today for $AU 43 and picked it up from a house. its very strong and the bars are thick, not the thin ones. is this a good price compared to the ones bought from stores?

    • ANSWER:
isn’t too bad but I have seen a few cheaper ones on eBay going for around – (Aussie). As long as it can handle your dog, it’s fine. The thick gates are really good, too.

  3. QUESTION:
Dream Interpretation – Hitch-hiking Baby in the Desert…?
I had a dream the other night that has been haunting me. In the dream, I was driving down a desert road on my way to a baby shower. I was driving a really big SUV. On the side of the road, there was a baby about 7 or 8 months old. He was hitch-hiking. I slowed my speed down just enough to see that he had his thumb out and he looked really sad. He wore a diaper with a safety pin holding it together, no shoes, no blanket nothing else. I drove right past the baby, because I was afraid to pick him up, but I couldn’t figure out why. As I drove away, I looked in my rear view mirror and felt really sad as the baby continued to stand there with his thumb out waiting to be picked up by the next motorist. At that point I woke up and I have been puzzled by this dream ever since.
Thanks for your insight. I don’t want any children and haven’t thought about adopting. Just to clarify, in the dream, I did not want to pick up the baby, even though he looked sad because for some reason I felt like the baby would be trouble or dangerous.

    • ANSWER:
baby = need your help, protection.
      hitch-hiking = seeking for support
desert = dry place, unpopular desire

You probably are into some sort of guilt conscience. You are in the midst of making decision whether you should help someone that is less fortune or less powerful than you are. Having baby projected in your dream is to show you that you are given opportunities to help people. However, you are refusing it because of some reason. It could be because of guilt or you are evading from responsibilities. Baby in the dream symbolizes help is seeking for you. You subconsciously think that you are afraid because there is some guilt conscience in you. Perhaps you are afraid to risk in reality.

  4. QUESTION:
my girlfriend keeps having a sort of recurring dream, and I can’t quite figure out what it means.?
2 years ago, she started having dreams about this angelic being and having a very strong romantic experience with him. They would be lying in a bed together naked just holding each other and sometimes would carry on with everyday routines afterwards. There would usually be a baby involved too. But as the months progressed, the angel would show a picture or silhouette of me and wipe it clean as if to blow me out of the picture. Eventually he transformed into an evil figure who just looked like an angel. And the dreams got more cruel, because she would end up held against her will and sometimes he would even gut her alive.

It eventually took my form and looked and sounded like me, but continued to torture her and the baby. For a while, the dreams went away, but just last night she had one where he was halfway between shadow and angel. she was crying to be let go because she missed her family, friends, and her twin babies. he disappeared and came back with the twin babies and she could only remember feeling happy yet scared for her babies’ safety.

Me and her are engaged, we do NOT have any babies together but there was a miscarriage a year ago (long after the dreams started happening), and she’s been hurt by a lot of people, including a street gang she was involved with (not willingly), and sexual assaults.

    • ANSWER:
your g/f needs therapy, she has been deeply traumatized and the dreams are her only way of dealing with it until she gets counseling

  5. QUESTION:
    nightmares about baby.?
my baby girl is 5 months old, and for the last month or so i have been having the same recurring nightmare that the house is on fire but i cant get to my baby to rescue her. either that or im holding her and cooking at the cooker and flames shoot out at me but i cant get my baby to safety. theyre really distressing and i find it hard to get back to sleep afterwards. just wondered if anyone knows what this dream could symbolise?

    • ANSWER:

  6. QUESTION:
Dream interpretation please of these dreams that I’ve been having consistently.?
I am 18. I’ve been having dreams that are related for while now. My dream are mostly about the end of the world.

My first dream was of a big tsunami passing over the world…We all knew it was coming and we were preparing. I had my niece by me and we were both terrified. I saw the waves come…Bigger then anything I’ve ever seen. The waves hit and we survived…We swam to the top. I’ve had this dream three times in my life…all different.

My other dream is with a plague…A sickness that swept through the world. The government was corrupt and tried to kill everyone; diseased or not. My family were trying to save safe. We were all in a shelter when all of a sudden the gov. people came following plagued people. Most of my family became ill. My mom, dad and I survived…I toook my baby niece to safety with me. Later on my mom got infected but she was some how immuned to it.

My other dream is of me standing outside again and all of a sudden i see a bright blue light in the night…and then terrible things happen. I’ve had many different versions of that dream since then.

I am with my mom and my dads on the roof of a building and we all know the world is going to end…just not when…the blue light comes closer and blows everything out of proportion. I keep my mom safe but we cant find my dad.

Lately the blue light has been coming back…and i try to tell everyone in my dream what will happen but no one listens.

    • ANSWER:
It sounds like, in these dreams there is the common theme that you and your various family members are fearful of an impending doom, or change. Spiritually, and esoterically, death is a symbol of change. So that you would fear some sort of mass death in your dreams might be a symbol of a powerful change that you are trying to keep from happening. Perhaps it means a specific death, like the death of your parents, or even your own death, that you’re fearing.

It also seems like you’ve partitioned your family from the rest, like how your family is immune to the disease, or how you and your niece rise to the top of the wave instead of drown. I had a flood dream once, and my family survived except for my elderly grandmother. It sounds like these dreams are caused by anxiety, and the deep connection you have for your family. You’re 18, so you’re probably going away to college soon, so maybe you’re afraid of moving on into the world.

Next time you’re having one of these dreams, try to realize that you’re dreaming, and let yourself feel strong, and let your family know that they will be okay, because they’re in your dream and you will take care of them, and see how the dream changes.

      Edit:

Or, perhaps your niece represents the child in you, and your mother represents your feminine side and your father represents your masculine side. There is a great disaster that may wipe everyone out, so every aspect of your Self may have to undergo a drastic change.

  7. QUESTION:
I need help with a disturbing dream i had please!?

  8. QUESTION:
    Green Dream…?
Back about 1975 or so a freind showed me a comic book with a drawing of a face of an ungly looking baby like monster, but before he let me see this drawing he warned me I would have a nightmare with this creature.
When I fell asleep I noticed that this creature was outside looking in thru the window.
I immediatly new I was in this dream and continued to dream it.
I ran outside to see what was happening and came accross these tall ( about 8 feet ) slim femenin beings with what looked like a wheel barrel device looded with the bodies of human women.
Has they went from house to house they would replace the white light bulbs with green light bulbs, and my house was next.
I was just a kid then and I ran for safety in this dream.
Kind of strange if they say you can’t see colors in your dreams.

    • ANSWER:
JESUS are you kidding me. I want to delete my account and never come on Yahoo again. These people above me are retarded. I knew this place would bring people who think they know what they’re talking about. I guess it’s everywhere in life. I thought I could get away from it on here…

Anyways..here’s the deal.. I’ll tell you the truth and you can take it or leave it. There is never a significance to a dream. Green doesn’t mean emergence of a boob from a bra. Black isn’t the growth of a pube on a hairy sack. The monster doesn’t mean anything. Guess what? You saw a monster and had a dream about it. That’s it.

Our minds will play dirty tricks and if people keep coming on this thing expecting to find answers from LAME-O’S who don’t know what the F they are talking about… you’re going to be highly disappointed! Look into your soul and finally realize that dreams are just dreams. Then kick someone in the balls!

Tips on Finding the Best Baby Cribs

It’s a fact that babies love to rest.  That’s why it’s so imperative to select the right baby crib for the nursery   The question is…which baby cribs are the best?  The answer to that is…there are many good baby cribs that will meet your needs.  You just need to know the secret to finding the perfect crib for your baby.

Tip #1: When hunting for baby cribs, don’t make your selection based on beauty alone. Do your research!

There are so many cribs nowadays that offer incredible beauty, endearing finishes and interesting designs, but just because a crib is stunning that doesn’t mean that it’s right for your baby’s nursery.  It’s important to do research about the manufacturer, building process, materials used and recalls.

Tip #2: Learn everything you can about the manufacturer.

If there’s a crib brand that you like then start by looking online to see if you can find information about the crib manufacturer.   Find out how long the company has been in business.   Learn all about their crib manufacturing process.   Find out what type of materials they use including: wood, glues and chemicals.  If you want an eco-friendly crib then make sure that they’re an eco-friendly manufacturer.  Consider also checking to see if their cribs have earned a JPMA safety certification.

Tip #3: Check out the crib recalls list.

You can go to CPSC.gov and look up crib recalls to see if that manufacturer has had any major recalls in the last few years.  But, just because they do have cribs that were recalled doesn’t rule them out completely.   You’ll want to look at which cribs had recalls and why.   Then check to see how the manufacturer handled the recalls and make sure that the crib you’re looking at isn’t on any recall list.

Tip #4: Decide what features are important to you in a baby crib.

Once you decide on the particular brand of crib you want then it’s time to pick out important features and options.  Write a list of things you definitely want in your baby crib.   If you really want a trundle drawer then write it on your list.   If you want an attachable changing station, put that down.  Then look to see which features and options come with the cribs you list best.   This will help you narrow down your choices to just a few or just one crib.

Tip #5: Measure the nursery carefully.

Once you know that the crib is a quality baby bed and made by a reputable company, it’s time to measure, measure, measure.  Measure the nursery and then check the baby crib’s dimensions to make sure it will fit.  Also decide what other furnishings you need and make sure you can fit those into the space with the crib in the room.  There are mini cribs, standard cribs and convertible cribs which all come in different sizes, so make sure to get one that’s just right for your baby’s space.

Tip #6: Once you’ve done the research, picked the options and measured the space it’s time to place your order.

Getting a complete nursery set is always a smart choice.   This eliminates the chances of pieces not matching in color and style.   It might say that the crib is cherry and you might find a cherry changing table somewhere else, but the two cherry finishes could be different, making the pair look awkward in the room.  If you get a full set you know you’re getting furnishings that all offer the same quality, color and style that will make decorating the nursery a cinch.
