     It’s not the age of the child that matters, it’s the size. If you have questions, contact the company. They will give you the size restriction information.

2. QUESTION:
   What snack tray parent or child works with the Safety First Evolution jogging stroller?
   I just recently bought the Safety first evolution travel system, and it doesn’t come with a parent tray OR a snack tray for the child. I am hesitant to buy trays online unless I know they fit. Anyone have ANY recommendations?? I don’t know how the stroller could even function without either of these…

     Are you sure parts are not missing? I would call the company and ask them. I’m sure they would know.

   child safety when traveling?
   can anybody suggest a safe behaviour while traveling in a vehicle or on foot that can have a play experience to reinforce it.
   e.g. wear a helmet when riding a bike – supply bike helmets with bike play as the experience.

     we always had the game be “see if the kids can beat the parents”

     who can get the seat belt on fastest. who can get the bike helmet on first. etc…and the parents were always just a little bit too slow so the kids won. now it’s second nature…old habit…and not a problem.

     Have them pretend that they are cars and/or pedestrians. Play an educational variation of “Red light, green light.”

   Does Air Canada provide child safety seats onboard?
   I’m travelling from UK to Canada. My daughter is 7 months old and I’m going to pay for her own seat- they have an option for the child to travel on parent’s lap but not keen on this.

   I’ve read Canada Air’s terms which say that the child safety seat to be used ‘must be certified to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard’ but since I did not buy my daughter’s car seat from Canada I doubt it meats those regulations.

   The terms state that a bassinet can be provided on a first come first served basis but what about a safety seat?

     No airline provides child seats. You will need to bring your own.

7. QUESTION:
   Need advice about food health/safety in Egypt – travelling with a child?
   Next year I will be travelling to Egypt with my husband and 8 yr old daughter. I am totally paranoid and fearful about getting sick from either the food or the water. (A lady I work with just got back from a tour where she was the only one who didn’t get sick). Is it true that you can’t even shower with your mouth open? Is it a bad idea to bring a child on a tour?

   • ANSWER:
     Drink only bottled sealed mineral water. Brush your teeth with it.
     Eat cooked food at a good restaurant or at your hotel. For salads and fruits eat only what is peeled.
     Do not drink a very cold drink after a long time in the sun or when it is hot.
     Squeeze a fresh lemon on your food when possible.
     Concerning food there are no big name diseases, it is a matter of changing your eating habits and vulnerability due to traveling and changing your place. Eat with moderation, choose light food that is nearest to your regular meals. Boost your immunity system by taking vitamins.
     When you order a cold drink ask for it without ice.

     Use a good sun blocker, wear a hat, wear cotton clothes like a loose cotton skirt and cotton T shirts. Your hat should cover the back of your neck, carry a bottle of water and drink often, wear comfortable shoes with cotton socks.
     That should do it. Enjoy your trip.

8. QUESTION:
   Do car seat in car bases offer extra safety for a child or are they purely for convenience?
   My travel system didn’t come with the in car base but i’m happy to buy the base separately. Was just wondering if it adds any extra safety or is it purely to make it easier to just click the car seat in place

   • ANSWER:
     I have no statistics to offer, but I think that if nothing else using the infant seats with the base makes them safer because you are more likely to take your time and ensure the base is properly buckled in ONCE (or several times, as you need to move it) than you are to make sure that the car seat is buckled in properly each and every time. It is quite easy to get distracted- none of us are perfect- and we could put our children’s lives in danger if a small distraction caused them to not be properly buckled. Also, instead of just the seat belt holding the car seat in (in open slots), the seat belt holds the base through a closed pathway (mine also has a backup method to secure the seatbelt) AND the metal locks on the base hold the car seat in place.

     Yes, it is convenient to use the base but I feel it also adds to teh safety of the car seat.
