ANSWER:
I agree with everything Arlene G said. It sounds like you have pretty much everything covered for the baby so don’t forget about yourself. This is coming from experience because no one even told me to take any of those things for myself. My poor husband was always having to run to the store for extra things.I would suggest bringing something to keep all the paperwork in. You will have lots and it’s so easy to just put them in one place so you aren’t worried about losing or forgetting them.
Also have some healthy snacks for when the baby comes home because I know I wasn’t able to eat for more than 5 mins at a time
. Escpecially because she had colic. You might want to get some baby gas drops just in case.
And this is a personal choice but I now have a wrap for the baby and wish I had looked into them sooner so maybe you could check out those. But other than that it seems as if you are all set. Congratulations!

QUESTION:
When are they going to take britneys baby away!?
In photos splashed across the front page and inside the New York Post on Friday, the 24-year-old pop star is shown exiting The Ritz-Carlton hotel with Sean Preston in one hand and a glass in the other. As her bodyguards walked Spears to her car, she stumbled — her long pants apparently getting tangled in her open-toed shoes — and bent low as Sean Preston’s head flung backward, knocking off his orange hat.
Spears, though, was able to keep her balance and hold on to her son, with help from a bodyguard, who reacted quickly.
A call to Spears’ publicist Friday seeking comment was not immediately returned.
The baby bobble was the latest public incident involving the safety of Spears’ child. Earlier this week, she was photographed driving with Sean Preston in a car seat facing forward rather than facing backward, which some safety regulations say is best.
Spears, who recently announced that she’s pregnant with her second child, was visited by a sheriff’s deputy at her home in Malibu, Calif., last month after Sean Preston slipped from his nanny’s arms as she was lifting him from a high chair and something in the chair snapped.
In February, authorities visited Spears’ home after photos showed the singer in a car with her son in her lap, instead of being strapped to a car seat in the back seat. She first blamed pursuits by the paparazzi, but later said it was a “mistake.”

ANSWER:
I didnt even hear about this yet. Thanks for letting me know. Im not at all surprised thou because Britney is totally clueless when it comes to parenting. Im seventeen and I have way more parenting skills than her, and I dont even have kids yet. Not to mention that her husband is a no good free loader. Theyre both pitiful excuses of parents. Britney complains about Kevin being pitiful all the time. What did she except when Kevin went with her when his ex girlfriend was pregnant with like his third child. Its a shame. I dont think they will take her child away. Mainly due to the fact that shes a celebrity. If they do manage to take her child away I will not at all be surprised. Probably when Britney makes some more dumb mistakes they will take her child away. People from child services are probably watching what she does anyway.

QUESTION:
are hooded knit scarves safe for an 18 month old baby ? one that is toddling( just learning to walk?)?
I knit and crochet, and after being unable to decide on what to make a friend’s baby,I decided to ask here .
I already have the yarn: a soft 4-ply, in a neon pink) and I am wondering if i should just make her a crocheted hat, or knit her a hooded scarf, both which would be completed quickly.
The hat would be completed by tonight, and the hooded scarf, by tomorrow evening. The hat would be crocheted, and the hooded scarf: knitted by hand.
I am thinking of safety reasons here.
i have not heard of a baby scarf, for fear of strangulation, but since the baby is in a car seat or at the very least, a stroller, ( hence the reason for the hooded scarf) then that is why I am asking.i have kids, girls, but they are ages 13 and 8. They are not ‘scarfy’ kinda girls. lol .
hats n gloves, yes, but not scarves.
I want this to be a Christmas gift, so i can’t really ask the mom, lolWhat to do?
Are there any moms out there who could help ?I have not made baby clothing in years, and so the only kids I make for, are my own,so I am no help there… lol
-
ANSWER:
I agree, I wouldn’t be very comfortable with a scarf at that age. Heck, my son’s 2 1/2 and I still would be iffy on one. The hat seems like a much better(and safer) idea. How sweet of you, homemade gifts rock.

QUESTION:
A “Friend” leaving baby in the car…?
I have a friend and we have been friends for about 9 years. She and her husband are the Godparents of my children and have always been so amazing to them.
She has a baby who will be 1 this month. When her daughter was about 3 months she left her in the car and went into Walmart for a “minute”. She also went to a friends house and left her daughter in the car sleeping, she said hat she didn’t want to wake her up.
Her husband also told me that a few weeks ago after Church they were going home to change and she asked her husband if it would be ok to leave their daughter in the car while they went in and changed…
I am having a hard time being friends with someone like this. I truly feel uneasy and i worry about her daughters safety. When she was 6 months old she was left in her carseat on the table unbuckled and fell out.
Any ideal on how to handle this situation and what to do?
I also want to add that I have told her that it is not the right thing to do. She seems to be so relaxed about the whole thing.
I am not sure that I still trust her with my own children.-
ANSWER:
It will be difficult, but I would speak to her about this.Either that,or approach a family member of theirs and have them do it.
You need to point out to her all the terrible things that have happened to little ones being left in cars.Things like kidnappings, dying from being left in overheated cars, children being taken from their parents because someone saw an unattended child left in a car and called the police. A whole host of things.
You could be doing her the biggest favour ever by speaking to her about this. She maybe doesn’t realize how dangerous it could be and needs to be reminded.
Hopefully for her little child’s sake, someone will make her aware of the dangers.I encourage you to try and find a way and to do it so she’s not offended.I know that’s not your intention.Just bring the subject up and go from there.
Good Luck and God Bless that little one.

QUESTION:
is specially formulated sunblock for babies a total rip off?
i went to the supermaket the other day and bought factor 30 sunblock for LO, but i got a normal peoples one and not the ‘specially formulated’ one for babies and kids.what is the difference? except for the price? seriously. the kids one was about £5 more!!!!!!!!! for a smaller bottle!!!!!!
now, i’m not one to scrimp on a few quid for the sake of my baby’s safety and health, but it just seemed ridiculous to pay over the odds for this.
anyone else agree?
BTW she can take the sun quite well (considering he dad has fair and freckly scottish skin, lol). i’m darker skinned and tan quite well without burning, so she seems a good mix of both. we always keep a hat on and make sure she has a shady spot to sit in. so whats the point in forking out the extra cash?
ahh, now, see, LO’s skin isn’t that sensitive. she hardly ever gets nappy rash (apart from when she’s teething bad) and i can get away with changing her nappy only a couple of times, (maybe 3 or 4 depending) per day as her skin can take it.also i use and oxy-style stain remover on her nappies with no reaction from her little botty!
i use a special fabric softener as well thoughshe’s a tough little thing!
yeah, i’ve got the tesco own brand one. i’ve did get the sensitive formulation one though.it was about £3
LOL i just read the bottle and it says hypoallergenic and ANTI AGING!!!! LMAO funny.
-
ANSWER:
Yeah they are rip offs, I use “big people” sunblock on my little girl all of the time, shes still white as a sheet, and she spends loads of time in the sun.You can get higher than 30, I use 50+ on my LO.
I find some of the cheaper sunscreens are also better than the expensive ones for thing such as how long it stays on, waterproof, smell…
Boots own make is fab!
